Membership

Who can become a member of Corowa Arts Co-operative Ltd: Gallery 294

Any regional artists producing original artwork are able to be members of the Co-operative.
Beginning artists are most welcome.

Membership costs for 2020-2021

There is a one off Entrance Fee of $200
There is also an Annual Subscription of $200 (*per financial year)
* Reductions occur for part financial year
Sales Commission is 20%

Time Requirements

Members man the Gallery on a shared basis. The actual time is dependent on the number of members. For example with 15 members, each member is required to man the gallery for only 2 days per Month.

To arrange a get together to look at the Gallery and how it works, show examples of your artwork and have any questions answered.
New members have an experienced member with them for the first 2 days that they man the Gallery.

What do members get

Members have access to the following facilities:
  • three general exhibition spaces;
  • a special exhibitions room;
  • integrated display cubes for ‘bread and butter lines’;
  • a small exhibition space for a solo exhibition each year
  • a workshop space; a kitchen; storage space (for packaging) and EFTPOS facilities;
  • support and encouragement in developing artwork;
  • social get-togethers;
  • and sharing a common goal with liked minded people.

As members of the Tourism Association, Gallery 294 has access to promotion via web sites, tourist guides and shop fronts.

Gallery 294 has professional flyers that are supplied regularly to all local wineries and accommodation providers.
And as you know we also have our own website.

Gallery 294 has a limited membership to enable all members to have adequate space for their work.

General information about Gallery 294

The General Exhibition Spaces Includes 2 rooms, 1 large kitchen wall and 2 hallways.
All work is professionally displayed to show each piece to its best advantage.
All works are rearranged and changed regularly to keep the Gallery always looking fresh and new.
Work in these areas are only allowed stay for a period of 3 months

There is one dedicated Gift Room for smaller and/or less expensive items that turn over quickly. There are also display cubes throughout each room for this range as well.

The Workshop/Studio Space is available for members and non members to run small workshops in.
This space is also available for members to work in when at the Gallery.

The Special Exhibitions Room is available for members and non members to book for up to 3 weeks a year to hold a solo or shared exhibition.
There is a charge for members of $50 to book and use this room.

The Focus Room is offered to members to hold a small solo exhibition once every year if they choose and at no charge.
If not used it becomes part of the rest of the gallery.

Hanging systems and display boxes:
Professional hanging systems and white display cubes are available in the main exhibition spaces and cubes are available in the Gift Rooms.

Flexibility of Rosters
Members fill out roster sheets for manning the Gallery. Time off for holidays etc and swapping with others to cover emergencies is encouraged.

Gallery 294 is open 6 days a week and is run by a co-operative of artists from Corowa & surrounding districts.
Gallery 294 is open Mondays to Fridays from 10am – 4pm. Entry is Free.

Corowa Arts Co-operative Ltd. exists to allow its members to promote, exhibit and sell their artwork by sharing the financial and time requirements that are too large for a single artist to maintain.

Gallery 294 welcomes members working in all art forms.
